Job Title: Application Analyst

Apex Systems is seeking a strong Application Analyst for a large financial company in Akron, OH. The Application Analyst will be responsible for the plan, build, implement and support distributed applications. Act as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects (will need to be an application subject Matter Expert). Attend project meetings and represent Client Server Applications. Coordinate efforts among team members to include planning, developing, installing, configuring, and supporting applications according to department policies, guidelines, and procedures.   • Windows OS (required) additional OS experience (nice to have)
  • Ability to configure and make changes to Applications
  • Report writing (crystal reports, etc)
  • Windows Servers
  • Ability to understand and read code (not writing code)
  • Ticketing Systems (Ex: service now)

Job Duties:
  • Act as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects (will need to be an application subject Matter Expert.
  • Support and configure 4+ high priority enterprise applications that are 24x7.
  • Respond to tickets and/or phone calls from internal user to resolve the issue.
  • Provide system and application support for assigned business groups.
  • Assist technical staff with design specifications and/or improvements to an existing application.
  • Ability to understand how applications interact with other IT systems and networks.

Highly Desired Skills:
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Server Operating systems, security and distributed applications (IIS, SQL, DNS, etc.).
  • Microsoft related certifications (MCITP, MCTS).
  • Project Management skills.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Fraud and/or financial application exposure

 Soft Skills:
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Can work in a very segmented and process driven environment
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5+ years’ of relevant experience
