Audio Visual Engineer is responsible for providing the day-to-day support of audio/video systems. The position encompasses A/V installations, project management, research and evaluation of new products and technologies, and in-house and customer support responsibilities. This is a hands-on position and will require from time-to-time that the individual performs installation, trouble shooting, and repair duties as required. The AV Systems Specialist will be expected to work with vendor and IT resources in the design, implementation, and maintenance and troubleshooting of AV and video conferencing systems.
Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IT resources and designated individuals responsible for providing AV and video conferencing support across offices. 

• Manage installations and support of the audio/video components of digital recording systems, and video conferencing systems. Provide technical support on A/V hardware, control systems, and signal issues. 

• Provide in-house support to other departments and interface with the development engineers. 

• Insure that AV and video conferencing technical issues are managed through resolution, and where necessary. 

• Coordinate advanced troubleshooting efforts with IT engineering and vendor resources. 

• Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function. 

• Provide design, integration, consultation, and project management of A/V IT needs 

• Responsible to be familiar with various software packages and the hardware required to support them, and be able to identify technology currently available and what the needs are to support assigned systems. 

• Will be working with users throughout the organization, must be able to communicate technical knowledge in a way that novice users can understand. 

• Manage requests independently, monitor progress against defined parameters within minimal supervision, and consistently handle support requests quickly and effectively and maintain a positive relationship with clients. 

• Ability to read blue prints. 

• Travel between sites is minimal. 

• Provide support and staging for live large scale events 

• Associate’s or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
