Data Integration Developer
Responsibilities include design and development of data integration integration solutions for movement of data between transactional data structures and staging structures of Accenture’s Life Insurance Platform (ALIP) for downstream systems.  This detail oriented role will require the individual to be ever inquisitive about our ALIP’s data architecture and the staging architecture driven by the needs of the downstream systems.  This individual will need to obtain intimate knowledge of ALIP’s available integration mechanisms, core data schema, staging tables, the business meaning of the data, and integration needs of downstream consumers.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced Oracle and or SQL Server developer with ETL experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality system documentation and project artifacts required by the SDLC and enterprise.
  • Design and Build of data integration flows and jobs.
  • Analyze data requirements of all downstream systems, requirements; data entry flow; data validation, data categorization rules, etc. as input to solution design.  Data categories include: Application info, Policy Print, Taxes, Claims, Confirmations, Statements, Correspondence, Prospectus Mailings
  • Collaborate with and present candidate solutions to ALIP Data and Capability architects to ensure that the design and meet expected requirements and the architecture principles
  • Collaborate with scrum team members to deliver business value in each sprint.
  • Collaborate with Quality Services to develop test strategy, test cases and test data.
  • Other opportunities include product configuration, business configuration, and ETL development with Informatica.

Technical skills:
  • Must have experience as data analyst, data modeler, and experience with DML and DDL.
  • Must have extensive enterprise level experience in database design, data integration, and data integration patterns (vs. department level experience).
  • Must have extensive experience with relational databases, SQL, store procedures, views, etc.
  • Ideally has extensive experience with ETL and understand appropriate usage.
  • Must have extensive experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, database data types, database procedures, views, functions and fine-tuning SQL for performance optimization. 
  • Ideally has experience with ETL, XML, XSL, Schema, and DTD.
  • Prefer knowledge and experience Messaging Middleware concepts (queues, p2p, pub/sub, routing).
  • Must have multivendor delivery experience.
  • Must have experience in user interaction, business analysis, development, integration, documentation, testing, deployment, building, configuration and production/customer support, maintenance and enhancements of ETL applications

Soft skills:
  • Ability to apply logical analysis and big picture thinking to assess the impact of change across the company and other sister companies using ALIP.  Ability to think beyond current process or project to understand the full impact of change
  • Ability to understand, define and document data patterns and data integration patterns.
  • Must be a driven self-starter
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must be able to work as leader and driver of solutions. Driven to get things done in a timely manner. 
  • Must escalate appropriately
  • Must be flexible, good listener
  • Must able to coordinate and facilitate technical meetings
  • Should require minimal management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer experience with ALIP or other Life and Annuity base administration systems
  • At least 5 years of current software development experience and experience in data integration
  • Prefer background in Insurance and Financial Services

Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
