The Development Configuration & Material Lead will be a member of a project team that commercializes new automated medical diagnostic systems. Executes activities involved in the creation/edit of instrument planning and builds, Bill of Material (BOM) and Manufacturing Work Instruction (MWI) development. Implements configuration management audit and maintains records in the Development Configuration Management System (DCMS). Support engineering activities such as design, assembly, test, trouble-shooting, modification and fabrication of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Creates build orders for instrument sub-assemblies.
  • Audits and generates As-Kitted, As-Build, and As-Maintained configurations Creates Part Numbers (P/N), Bill of Material (BOM) for Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI) for Instruments in the Development Configuration Management System (DCMS).
  • Creates log book entries and maintains instrument configuration records in DCMS.
  • Analyses and comparison of configuration baselines Works with Design Transfer technical support personnel to address questions and issues with new product launch activity.
  • Understand and work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform duties
  • Monitor work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time.
  • Build or set up equipment, prepare and conduct experiments, collect data, calculate or record results, and help engineers or scientists in other ways, such as making prototype versions of newly designed equipment.
  • Write business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from cross functional managers, as well as peers from other departments.
  • Miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures and specifications.
  • Good basic math skills a must
  • Ability to be flexible, responsive to change and to multitask.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and detail oriented.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and documentation accurately.
  • Ability to navigate ERP and perform Bill of Material (BOM) analysis.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to solve complex logistics problems.
  • Knowledge of the following software desirable: MS Office
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, etc.
