Job Scope & Purpose:
Our exclusive partnership with a growing vaccine biotech has opened up an amazing leadership and innovation role. If you are an expert in vaccine research and development and intuitive and innovative leader this is the role for you. Our client is looking for a leader to guide their second generation pipeline of research programs for vaccine, immuno-oncology, or other innovative indications. You should have a track record of innovative vaccine research and past examples of leading groups to successful project outcomes to apply for this opportunity. Primary Job Responsibilities: 
  • You will need to lead, develop and manage a team of as many as 12 FTE’s to identify novel vaccine candidates
  • You should have an Innovative nature to build multiple disease area vaccine discovery projects and assess which to push along in the pipeline
  • You will Coordinate R&D projects with protein engineering, chemistry, and in vivo groups for successful and seamless project progression
  • You must Mentor and Supervise the growing team and guide them to achieve scientific goals and objectives which align to the company's goals
  • You will work collaboratively to transfer projects with downstream development counterparts and clinical team 
  • You will also present project status to key stakeholders and upper management colleagues in strategy updates
  • You should come with experience and strong understanding of immunology, infectious disease, vaccine /cancer-vaccine and/or biologics discovery in this role. Oncology experience highly desirable
  • Expert knowledge of various biochemical, analytical, immunological, and cell-based assays
  • Past experience with contributions to IND-enabling reports

Primary Job Requirements: 
  • PhD in related field (Biology, Microbiology, Immunology or Biochemistry) with six years of management of teams of 5+ in R&D setting
  • Minimum 4 years of prior supervisory experience at Associate Director or higher directly related to management of research projects and personnel
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of discovery assays and research techniques including pre-clinical animal study progression
  • Ideally you will have an expertise in immune responses to vaccination
  • You should also have expertise related to infectious disease biology, microbiology and/or immunology
  • Ability to thrive in an ever evolving biotech environment and successfully develop a team and pipeline
