Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Java/J2EE Software Engineer for our client in Durham. This individual will be developing quality web based software components which includes REST Webservices, workflow tools, file processing and interfacing with pre-existing web based services that Fidelity currently hosts and supports. In this role, associate will work closely in a team of high talented individuals across various groups to implement the applications as desired.
In this role, you will serve as a Software Engineer who will play a Development Lead role within the Digital Platforms Development team. You will be responsible for the creation of quality web-based software components that are used by our client’s workplace and retail customers. You will work closely with the scrum master, systems analysts, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features that make up the internet experience. You will also be encouraged to provide guidance and mentoring to the other developers within the scrum team.
Desired Work experience:
4+ experience in the IT industry with strong software development skills using Java and web application technologies in a service-oriented architecture. Experience in financial / retirement services domain a plus.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to understand and analyze the functional requirements
  • Work on data conversion projects
  • Auditing of output and reports
  • Close interaction with the project team members
  • Peer review and testing

Skills/Knowledge:
  • Experience in Server Side technologies like Angular 6, Java, J2EE, JSON, Servlets and Tomcat.
  • Experience with Spring Core, REST / MVC Design patterns, Junit
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Knowledge with the following: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy, JIRA is required
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration, static code analysis and test driven development
  • Strong experience on performance analysis and tuning
  • Exposure to Agile Delivery
