As an IT Operations Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for IT Operations, reporting to the Director of Technology Operations.  On a daily basis, you maintain a solid working relationship across  technical teams, developing an understanding of their technology implementations to ensure peek operational effectiveness of the solution.  You will work with team members to help lead efforts in support of our Operational Excellence goals and highly available IT business services.  This includes process definition, root cause analysis and facilitating activities to aide in continual service improvement.
In addition, you can expect to:
  • Work collaboratively with IT engineers and developers to address the root cause of incidents and to eliminate or reduce the impact of incidents on business services.
  • Work closely with management to ensure remedies are implemented and communicated to relevant stakeholders to help avoid re-occurrence.
  • Analyze incident data to identify problem areas and create/monitor plans to investigate and resolve problems within agreed upon timelines.  Participate in major post incident reviews for major incidents. 
  • Engage with vendors to help ensure problems are managed and resolved in a timely manner.  Provide information to stakeholders regarding vendor solution enhancements or problem areas.
  • Develop and maintain process, procedures and controls to ensure effective operation of ITIL processes of incident, problem, change and configuration management.  Provide guidance and training to the technical subject matter experts for ITIL processes in support of the maintenance and continued growth of the processes.
  • Ensure agreed procedures are adhered to for the management of ITIL processes to ensure business service availability.
  • Report regularly on the performance of ITIL processes using appropriate analysis to assess.
  • Possess technical and people management skills, good understanding of the overall IT infrastructure.
  • Leverage your experience with Windows desktops & servers, applications within VMWare, Citrix and Network management Technologies.
  • Leverage your analysis, coding and scripting knowledge to find creative ways to automate repetitive operational tasks or effectively collaborate with developers.
  • When necessary, assist with ITIL processes of incident, change and release management.
  • Monitor licensing to ensure systems comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements. 
  • Take an active role in directing and managing his/her knowledge and experience base to stay current with IT technical trends.
  • Analyze requests regarding licensing and hardware procurement, assist with the drafting of Purchase Order requests.
  • Coordinate vendor audit needs for license compliance.
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform highly desired.
  • Lotus Notes development experience is a plus

Do you have what it takes?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.  Additional years of related experience may be substituted for education beyond and Associate Degree.
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Experience with ITIL functions of incident, problem, change and configuration management
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation is a must  
  • Problem solving and creative thinking is required, including hands-on troubleshooting and analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience
  • Possess technical and people management skills, good understanding of the overall IT infrastructure
  • Ability to motivate and guide the efforts of others and the skill to balance the needs of various technical domains and service management processes (Relies on other technical subject matter experts)
