What experience will set candidates apart from one another?

  • Installation, administration and maintenance of databases in HA setup on Windows platform
  • Design, implement and test DR
  • Proven skills in database performance tuning. 


What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment?

Database migrations within a Datacenter consolidation effort 
Is this person a sole contributor or part of a team? Team
If so, please describe the team? Platform Engineering. This team consist of 20+ database and Java Integrators 
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?

  • Architect, install, configure, support, performance tuning, etc database responsibilities.
  • Also include the ability to analyze all aspects of infrastructure and make verbal and/or written recommendations or modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability.


What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities? We need someone who have experienced on administering SQL Server 2008 to 2016 versions. Tools like SSMS, Powershell, Performance Monitor, SQL Server Profiler, Windows clustering etc. 
What skills/attributes are a must have? 
Good Knowledge of MS SQL Server features, Disaster Recovery, Cluster Technology, etc. Managing Databases from 50G to 500GB. Upgraded / Migrate database design and architecture. Responsible for identifying performance problems in production databases. Setup up monitoring SQLDash and monitor all database status including CPU, Memory, I/O, Space Management. Tune database memory by increase db cache size, shared pool size, etc. 
What skills/attributes are nice to have? SQL Server installs, Performance Tuning skills, administering big databases, monitoring infrastructure jobs, troubleshoot issues e.g. AlwaysOn failures, windows cluster, SQL server errors, T SQL coding and basic powershell skills.
