Network Security Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Network Security Engineer with leadership experience and a strong background in enterprise-class solutions. This position is a lead role within the Technology Services Unit, working closely with IT verticals to architect, deploy, and support network and security infrastructures. This person should have experience working as a level 3 network engineer role. He/she will be responsible for multi-platform design using a wide variety of technologies.
The Network Security Engineer will participate in project planning, design, and technical integration activities, network capacity planning, and network management systems. He/she will also enforce the conformance to network and security standards, develop test plans, and create documentation for operational and support teams.
The person in this role will coordinate changes and ensure uninterrupted service, diagnose complex network and security issues, and provide leadership to the team. He/she should feel comfortable providing technical support to users of all levels and be prepared to perform occasional after hours support.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrated understanding of IT architecture, and extensive knowledge and experience with CISCO technologies especially Data Center Networking and Network Security. He/she must be able to lead and drive the team throughout an extensive network infrastructure project.

Responsibilities:
  • Make strategic technology choices, directly supervising the quality of designs and implementation inside and between components.
  • Collaborate effectively with peer Architects and Network and IT Design Engineers to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas and resolve technological disagreement with informed, rational solutions.
  • Collaboratively work within a defined governance process and work to refine and improve that process.
  • Develop and maintain a high-level representation of the current state of the technical architecture
  • Evaluate and anticipate impact of technical solutions on related projects and existing or future architecture.
  • Research, collaborate, and influence 3rd party vendors to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing outstanding technology systems and infrastructure design.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS or better) in computer science, information management or a relevant discipline or experience with Network management systems and architectures.
  • A strong understanding of network security
  • Cisco wireless network experience
  • Extensive Cisco ISE experience
  • Python, Perl, or similar programming experience preferred
  • Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of IP routing and protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and RIP.
  • Cisco ACI, VMware vSphere/ NSX
  • DMVPN/MPLS/VPN/GRE
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work effectively within a team and inspire team members
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively across the organization toward the specific objectives of a particular business or Technology domain

 
Cisco certifications would be a plus:
CCIE routing & switching
CCIE security.
