Position Summary
Do you have a bias for action?  Do you like to implement technology solutions that have material impact on revenue production?  Would you like to drive Digital Transformation across commercial products and services at a 113 year-old Wide Moat pure-play automation company?  If your answer is yes, then our client wants you to join their burgeoning Infrastructure Practice and effect change.
The SDWAN Engineer is critical path for both transformation and innovation.  This tech professional, an SDWAN delivery, and operations native, with solid fluency in cloud, networking, automation, and scripting,will help this client move to an agile IT operating model and create best-in-class, agile, on-demand IT products and services.  The SDWAN Engineer will jump into the recently launched Network Transformation initiative, a $72M global SDWAN hardware/software upgrade project covering 300-sites that will implement Cisco SDWAN, ISE, SD-Access, CMS, Umbrella, and other cutting-edge technologies.   
 
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Design, code, and test new network environments
  • Automate commodity tasks
  • Write high-quality scripting compliant with enterprise and industry regulations
  • Author and iterate tech-to-tech documentation
  • Align with SAFE Agile principles
  • Continually make network setup and delivery better, faster, cheaper for our customers
  • Stay current with latest cloud tech and obtain/maintain cloud certifications
  • Collaborate with capability team to build an agile culture in teams
  • Act as a mentor and learner- always answer and ask questions
  • Drive the architecture/road map alignment
  • Help Rockwell abandon the way we’ve always done it and adopt orchestrated, automated, service delivery model
  • Apply process improvements to facilitate improved outcomes
  • Bring industry best-practices and new thinking to the team

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of related experience
  • At least one Cisco network technology super-power; route & switch, security, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco SDWAN
  • Experience with Java, Python, SQL, or other domain-specific programming languages

 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience at a start-up, technology company, or in enterprise IT with demonstrable cloud development impact
  • Experience working in an environment where network operations was outsourced
  • Service Provider/MSP experience
  • Hands-on full-lifecycle experience with cradle-to-grave revenue-generating product/service
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Past experience building servers, storage, datacenter ecosystem is valuable
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
