Job Scope & Purpose:
Come join a growing Biotech that is pioneering new RNA-targeting small molecule therapies for genetic types of cancer and genetic related neurological disorders. Our exclusive client is seeking a strong toxicologist with GLP exposure to help them design and execute preclinical studies. As a part of a growing team, you will be relied upon to will contribute to moving projects with cross-functional teams from discovery to IND-enabling studies and clinical stages. You will work independently to design and oversee CRO GLP toxicology studies and report findings to key stakeholders.

Primary Role Responsibilities:
  • You will lead toxicology decisions with project teams for neurodegeneration and oncology
  • You will collaborate effectively and generate early nonclinical safety plan and design and further execute and interpret results from in vitro and in vivo toxicology studies
  • Independently develop solutions and strategies and then oversee studies conducted with vendors, and outsource nonclinical studies to appropriate CROs
  • Oversee the design, reporting, and interpretation of data generated regarding GLP-compliant studies that are outsourced to CRO partners
  • Ability to conduct in vitro toxicology assays in-house, oversee in-house lab studies, and manage assay transfer to CRO partners
  • Experience in summarizing and organizing safety studies for internal and external review and regulatory submissions
  • Assist in early clinical candidate selection and asset characterization in support of clinical trials
  • You will have value to the team as the in-house expert in innovative technologies in the field of toxicology including: new in vitro, in vivo, and in silico screening assays, or cutting-edge small molecule or RNA assessment studies or technologies and safety software

Primary Role Requirements: 
  • Ph.D. in toxicology, pharmacology or cell biology with 7+ years toxicology experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO experience will be considered
  • Expertise with pharmaceutical safety, GLP toxicology study designs, and protocols 
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in both in vitro and in vivo toxicology assessment for small molecule therapeutics
  • Ability to organize and manage outsourced CRO studies and maintain positive relationships
  • Experience with the design and execution of in vivo experiments to determine the effects of small molecule therapeutics related to human safety risk understanding
  • Hands-on experience with in vitro toxicology assay development and ability to transfer externally is valuable 
  • Ability to adapt to an evolving biotech environment and address needs as they arise
