Senior, Principal Scientist, QC Analytical Development, 976293
Job Scope and Purpose:
Our well-funded and rapidly growing Greater Boston area company is seeking a strong QC Analytical leader to lead a team focused in optimizing a manufacturing platform, focusing on analytical development of QC assays for lentiviral and cell therapy platform candidates.  If you are looking for an opportunity for career development and to work with a close-knit group of experienced scientists in a fast-paced and exciting environment, then here’s the opportunity for you.  
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute and optimize quality control assay development and validation
  • Design, optimize and qualify QC assays that utilize analytical platforms such as qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry or other systems
  • Plan and supervise development and execution of in-vitro cell assays and downstream characterization of T-cells as part of potency assay development
  • Apply new protocols and establish new techniques or methodologies, as needed
  • Support tech transfer by writing protocols and operating procedures, and interfacing with CMOs
  • Analyze and document results for IND enabling studies
  • Lead a team of research associates and scientists for cross-functional programs
  • Create and implement a training and QC worksheet data collection program to track QC functions

Primary Job Requirements:
  • Ph.D. required, with a degree in an applicable field of study (Bioengineering, Immunology, Cell Biology, etc.) with at least 2-6 years of industry experience
  • Strong preference for experience with lentiviral vectors, or CAR-T or T-Cell programs, in a QC environment
  • Expertise in flow cytometry and PCR required
  • Previous experience in managing small teams of scientists and technicians strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required
