IT Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of various projects ensuring consistency with our client’s execution strategy, commitments and business objectives.  The IT PM will be required to lead project teams to deliver projects on time and budget through effective management of the project scope, budget, plan, resource performance, issues, risks, and deliverables. The IT PM must be adept at managing project sponsors, providing regular status reports, coordinating various teams, manage risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
  • Responsible for leading project teams and managing all activities in a project life-cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) associated with projects that are across multiple departments within a line of business segment and medium risk, scope and complexity
  • Consult with business partners to clarify and define project requirements and business case, including development of a statement of work. Develops and revises project plans and budgets, works with users to understand complex problems and focuses on bringing issues to resolution, escalating as necessary to meet timelines
  • Manage assigned project budgets
  • Create and deliver presentations to mid-senior level management on project goals and plans, including progress reports
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines amid shifting priorities
  • Utilize the majority of MS Office software and selected PPM tools
  • Effectively leverage and lead resources needed for assigned projects, in a matrix environment
  • Participate in or lead the development of project performance metrics
  • Manage essential risk mitigation activities including tracking and follow-up on risks, issues, and contingency planning
  • Interact effectively with all levels of management to present project information
  • Lead working sessions both in person and virtually
  • Bridge differences between parties to come to an agreed upon compromise that helps the business move forward
  • Share knowledge with project team members and facilitate discussions on project vision and needs
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources; reconcile conflicts and break-down high-level information into details

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with project management life cycle methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of: senior leaders, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Demonstrate experience with meeting facilitation
  • Demonstrate experience negotiating with leaders, managers, and subject matter experts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrate experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrate experience creating and delivering presentations on project goals and plans, including status reports
  • Experience communicating with team members and project staff working in remote locations
  • Excellent facilitation, leadership and organizational skills. Experience in leading large working sessions either in-person and/or virtually
  • Excellent negotiating skills with diverse group of senior leaders, managers, and subject matter experts

Education/Licensing/Certification:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Accounting, Healthcare, Finance or related field.  PMP Certification or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Project Management. Must have experience in Information Technology. Preferred experience in infrastructure and/or Mergers & Acquisitions.
Knowledge and Skills:  Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
