Skills:
  • Staff at this career ladder level typically manage projects with budgets
  • $500K and with medium level of complexity. - Preferred.
  • Fully knowledgeable of the Product Development process. - Preferred.
  • Possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques. - Preferred.
  • MS Project.

Education/Experience:
  • Typically possesses 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. - Preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience. - Preferred.
  • PMI certification preferred.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments, directs and monitors work efforts on a daily basis, identifies resource needs, performs quality review, and escalates functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Prepares the business case showing the business impact of the project (costs/savings/revenues/intangible benefits).
  • Tracks key project milestones and adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
  • Ensures an excellent understanding of the business unit being worked with and their priorities.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.

  1. To get started, can you give me a quick overview of your team and what you do?
    1. We are a software arm of and this team is the delivery arm for that software (Professional Services Organization). Our projects vary in length and complexity from 3 weeks to multiple year engagements with the average length at 16-20 weeks.
  2. The person who will be successful in this role will be somebody who?
    1. Pays incredible attention to detail, has a positive attitude and is a strong problem solver with experience or aptitude for working with all levels of a corporate customer from Executive to Individual Contributors.
  3. What would you say are the TOP 3 must-have skills you’re looking for?
    1. Navigating conflict through to resolution
    2. Proven history of attention to detail
    3. Structured approach to Project Management with knowledge of the different types of methodologies and experience in most of them.

    1. 3-5 years
  5. Does your team work standard core hours or does that vary?
    1. Standard
  6. Do you need someone with a particular degree or certification?
    1. No but PMP is a plus.
  7. What are some of the performance indicators you’ll be looking for once this person ramps up?
    1. Meeting deadlines or acute awareness and communication when deadlines won’t/can’t be met, quality of work, relationship building both internally and externally
  8. What would you say are some of the main selling points for candidates?
