Job Scope & Purpose: 
Our Cambridge based client, focused in genome editing is seeking a motivated and experienced research assistant to join their team and contribute to cell line construction. The candidate should have a strong background in cell biology, including primary cell isolation, culture, and transfection. The candidate will be a member of the genome engineering team and report to the cell biology scientist. This is a full-time position.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Isolate, culture, passage, and freeze primary cells
  • Perform transfection to deliver gene-editing reagents into cells
  • Characterize cells by Next-Gen Sequencing, qPCR/RT-PCR, and FACS analysis
  • Prepare media and common reagents
  • Enter experiments into ELN
  • Adhere to the guidelines for personnel and laboratory safety and environment protection

Primary Job Requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in cell biology, molecular biology, animal science or related discipline
  • Minimally 2 years of cell culture experience in academia or industry
  • Experience in mammalian primary cell culture and cell line construction using CRISPR
  • Candidate with hands-on experience with general molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, plasmid isolation, PCR/qPCR will be given preference
  • Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently in a result-oriented, dynamic environment
