Duration: 1+ year rolling contract
Position Description:
 Field test support of novel digital communications and radar systems at a variety of frequency ranges.  The candidate will help with selection of antennas, calibration of measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators), develop test plans and be knowledgeable about spectrum allocation and propagation issues.  Testing is from variety of platforms to include: testbed aircraft, portal ground field test equipment and ship-borne measurements. Most importantly, the Engineer will design, develop and test RF subassemblies, selecting appropriate RFICs for use and perform mixed signal circuit board design. With Laboratory staff supervision RF Engineer will direct a project technician in fabrication and supporting testing of said components and subassemblies.
Required Skills:
  1. Knowledgeable about of spectrum allocation and propagation issues.
  2. Prior experience with RF field testing and laboratory/factory testing
  3. Should be familiar with RF design for transmitters and receivers
  4. Experience designing RF systems
  5. Experience in miniaturization of or for small form factor and lower power consumption
  6. Experience with popular/current RF circuit design tools
  7. Experience in digital electronics design for support RF systems (power, data capture, control)
  8. Existing Secret Clearance required

   
Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role):
  1. Prior experience testing in anechoic chambers
  2. TS clearance preferred with potential for JWICS access
