Senior Cloud Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to serve as the founding, and leading member of our new Cloud Engineering team. The Cloud Engineering team is part of a new, centralized, shared-services organization. The shared-services organization collaborates with the global business groups to design and implement new enterprise systems and products for improved operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Always make security the top priority
  • Automate what should be automated
  • Architect and build high availability (HA), cloud-native applications
  • Develop automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. We are a GitLab and Ansible shop
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues
  • Share on-call responsibility
  • Perform code reviews and mentor team members
  • Provide consulting support to product teams to ensure alignment with overall enterprise architecture
  • Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate and pair with multiple teams to share knowledge and improve everyone’s skills
  • Develop a deep understanding of KPI’s that affect each line of business
  • Define and document processes and analyses

 
 
Required Skills
 
  • 8+ years’ experience in software engineering
  • 4+ years’ AWS experience
  • 4+ years’ designing and scaling container-based workloads in production
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Developer Certifications
  • Experience building micro-service systems
  • Experience with open-source platforms and technologies
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
  • Expertise in a compiled language such as Go, Rust, Java
  • Expertise in front-end development using vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS3
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and strategies including SaaS, PaaS, Security, Compute, Storage, and Messaging
  • Advanced understanding of relational and non-relational databases
  • Knowledge of industry trends and relevant application technologies
  • Adept at mastering new technology, processes and software applications
  • Dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction, persistent about achieving project goals
  • Interpersonal skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, influencing and negotiating
  • Own vital relationships both up and downstream of the platform teams to ensure delivery
  • In depth experience using Agile, Scrum and iterative development practices


 
Desired Skills
  • AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS DevOps Engineer certification
  • Experience with the GitLab DevOps Lifecycle
  • Experience with Lambda functions
  • Machine Learning experience, AWS Sage Maker
  • Experience with designing and implementing multi-tenant SaaS systems
  • Proven ability to work in a global, multicultural environment
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, 4.x
