Job Description:

Provides leadership and manages the finance department, which is responsible for the budgeting, financial analyses, reporting, month-end accounting and auditing functions. Assumes key functional responsibilities for the Director, in the Finance area, in the incumbent's absence.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the Finance Department and ensuring that the budgeting, monthly re-forecasting, operational & financial analyzes, monthly reporting, month-end accounting, and the auditing functions are all executed smoothly, effectively and accurately.
  • Consults with the regional financial leaders and the operational leaders while developing budgets and re-forecasts.  Monitors, investigates, analyzes and forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Make presentations on a monthly to the Operational leaders on their financial performance and on their projected spend for year-end. Provide financial support to these leaders to help them manage and control their areas.
  • Establishes workflows to ensure that all data and information is collected. Compiled and analyzed appropriately.
  • Responsible for the tracking, maintaining and reporting of the Project hours.  Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to make sure that all the projects are set up correctly.
  • Responsible for developing the Recharge Agreements between the various entities, organizations and regions within the company.  Work with the various operations leaders to collect and price out the level of effort needed to complete all the different projects.
  • Oversees the month-end accounting confirming that the expenses are all accounted for and that all the recharges of the dollars are correctly coded and posted.
  • Sets financial controls for the department and audits the invoices, employee non-payroll especially contractor payroll and non-payroll.
  • Plans and facilitates meetings. Develops and foster business partnerships with internal customers and other management personnel. Perform other tasks assigned as necessary.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and disciplines staff to maintain a high level of competence and motivation.
  • Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including professional development and training.
  • Responsible for all adhoc cost benefit studies.
  • Manages and conducts financial analyzes for special projects by collecting the information/data from the various organizations and developing financial/cost benefit models to analyze and study the financial impact.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum seven years of directly related financial experience with a variety of projects.
  • Minimum three years of experience participating and directly coordinating others in budget and financial project management.
  • Experience managing staff.
  • Ability to independently define problem/project design and scope, prepare recommendations and communicate results.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis, forecasting and project management skills including complex analytic problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge in one of the following: quantitative analysis, financial analysis, healthcare economics, information systems, organizational development, health care delivery systems, project management or new business development.
  • Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, project management and group processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with client's data sources.
  • Experience with SAS and Microsoft Access helpful.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field; OR six (6) years of directly related experience.
