Apex Systems is looking for a Sr Java Developer in Montgomery County, MD!

 Title: Sr. Java Developer 
 
Summary
The Sr. Java Developer will work with a team of front and back end developers to enhance, modify, and maintain an open source metadata repository that is used across teams for a large financial organization.
This position is comprised of back-end development, automated testing, and automated deployment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work with team members to enhance and modify data repository
  • Develop back end code, as well as test code to use for automated testing
  • Build, manage, and maintain automated deployment within AWS
  • Be quality-focused
  • Design, develop, implement, test, deploy, and support Java-based software in the AWS Cloud
  • Ensure security and compliance requirements are met  

 
Experience & Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience required
  • Hands on experience designing, developing, implementing, testing, and deploying large scale Java/J2EE projects on AWS
  • Believes in Scrum/Agile, and has experience delivering software when working on teams that use Scrum/Agile methodology

 
Required Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Spring stack (DI, AOP, Security, Boot, etc.)
  • JPA/Hibernate/Spring Data
  • REST APIs
  • Unit testing (JUnit, RestAssured, etc)
  • DB/SQL (PostgreSQL)
  • Git/Maven/Gradle
  • Automated testing
    • Unit and functional testing
  • AWS DevOps
