Position Description:
Our client is a Large Tech Company specializing in the Energy/Utilities industry that is looking for a Test Environment Manager to fill a 6 month to full time/perm position.
Our client is building an on-shore testing team that will working within their Service Delivery groups.  This candidate will take part in building out the team, leading both on-shore and off-shore testing and performing some hands-on testing (initially) in a variety of areas including automation testing, manual testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing and more.
About the role:
  • Maintains a central repository of test-environments in scope with their latest version and connectivity details (Information management)
  • Scheduling of test environments as per the requirements of the project teams. (Demand management)
  • Creation of new test environments as per requirement. (Supply management)
  • Environment Monitoring (Monitoring)
  • Deleting/ updating outdated test-environments and its details (Housekeeping)
  • Preliminary investigation of issues on the environment and sometimes co-ordination till an issue resolution (Incident Management)
  • Analyzing data for environment issues, identifying trends and taking pro-active steps to resolve issues / co-coordinating for a long term fix. (Problem Management)
  • Test Data Management to ensure that test data is available to testers when needed via a TDM tool or test data refresh from other environments
  • Status Accounting to report on service, usage, and availability metrics to provide full transparency into test environment management activities
  • Continuous Improvement to continuously evaluate test environment management services for improvement opportunities (people, process, and tools)
  • Automation to eliminate manual tasks as much as possible to improve efficiency
  • Hires and leads test environment management professionals
  • Coaches and counsels team members,
  • Defines and manages staffing strategy and plan that consistent with the needs of the business
  • Prepares and presents program-level communications for executives and stakeholders
  • Defines performance objectives and development plans for team members and ensures alignment with department objectives

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years’ of overall professional experience
3+ years’ experience leading or managing quality assurance/software testing teams (ideally leading up to 10-15 individuals)
Experience in a variety of testing disciplines including automation testing, manual testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing and more.
Experience working within an Agile environment
Strong communication and documentation skills
