We are seeking a Jr. Project Manager who is committed to developing breakthrough connected car services. We are a service offering to owners and drivers enabled by mobile applications (iOS/Android) and supported by a series of RESTful web services APIs that we develop here in Chicago’s West Loop. Some of these connected car services include:
  • Personalized location based services – first/last mile routing, routing optimizations, on-street parking prediction, personal POI manager, ride/car sharing, etc.
  • Personalization by machine learning your driving patterns over time
  • Organize your frequent destinations and upcoming trips in one place
  • Easily send addresses from your phone to your car from anywhere
  • Monitor traffic and alert customers when it’s the best time to leave
  • Send quick messages from your car to let them know what time to expect you
  • Lock and unlock your car, or turn on the ventilation system, from anywhere

We are looking for an energetic, positive and enthusiastic Translations Jr. Project Manager Consultant. As a member of the Translations team, you will be responsible for addressing all translation requests from our various teams: SW development, Data Privacy, Local Markets, amongst others. Some of the key tasks are:
  • Track translation requests using JIRA
  • Submit translation requests to external agency
  • Upon completion, merge translations into the SW code base or share them with requestor
  • Manage translation projects for easy access and maintenance of translation strings
  • Create translation files for local market review
  • Mentor requestors on Translation Process
  • Improve existing processes
  • Look for improvements on our ways of working

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience with SDLC, experience with Software Development is a plus.
  • Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work cohesively as part of a team and alone.
  • Organization and time management skills are a MUST!
  • Multitasking and efficient time management skills with strong attention to detail, prioritizing, work with direction and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to assist on projects (understand tasks, manage tasks simultaneously, deliver quality products, work in a team and report on issues, successes and difficulties).
  • Ability to problem solve (proactively approach issues, address potential problems, plan for contingencies, resolve conflicts with team members and resources, comfortable with challenges and focus on solutions).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (team player, collaborating, understand the needs of manager and team members, actively listen).
  • Ability to manage tasks and increasingly difficult projects (take full responsibility of tasks, understand the company’s mission and goals).
  • Ability to learn about the translation industry (understand the localization industry, curious about new translation memory technologies, improve skills and develop professionally).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, other languages would be an asset
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Independence in carrying out assigned tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly-developed computer skills (MS Office, Windows)
  • Experience in translation and localization project management would be a strong advantage
