Job Scope & Purpose:
Our high profile client is growing their clinical presence as they prepare to enter the clinic ~ we are seeking an accomplished immune-oncology drug development professional to develop therapies that stimulate immune responses against solid and hematologic cancers for their cancer immunotherapy programs.  The molecules are expected to be potent as single agents as well as in treatment combinations with existing cancer immunotherapies. Our client’s scientific founders are major figures in cancer biology and immunology and the therapies are poised for success!
The VP/Sr. Medical Director will be responsible for partnering with the CMO to drive the clinical development efforts of our client’s cancer immunotherapy programs; this individual will monitor clinical studies, review and interpret clinical trial data, author clinical study and regulatory communications and documents, as well as monitor all competitor activities and data. Additionally, this person will contribute to review of clinical trial data as well as collect external data and relevant competitive intelligence. This individual will be highly analytical, decisive, goal-oriented, and timeline sensitive while maintaining the highest of scientific and ethical standards. 
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide specific immune oncology expertise and strategic insight to further identify additional development opportunities
  • Medical monitoring, coding, and data cleaning in collaboration with CROs
  • Authoring clinical sections in regulatory documents not limited to IND submission and annual updates, study protocols, investigator brochures and other study-relevant documents
  • Author manuscripts, publications, or other documents intended for external audiences
  • Serve as an internal resource for functions requiring clinical input on select drug(s) including primary point of contact for clinical trial staff at study sites for clinical issues as well as regulatory, safety and other functions
  • Prepare clinical safety or other specific management plans and manuals in a cross-functional team
  • Support or prepare data interpretation and clinical trial reports, and Investigator Alert letters and SAE reports as required
  • Contribute in an active and ongoing manner to the scientific, clinical, and commercial development of current and future product candidates; Lead in Strategic or Clinical Advisory Boards

Primary Job Requirements:
  • MD degree with 10+ years of industry experience and at least 5 years in immune oncology
  • Successful academic research publication history or history of medical practice in a relevant field
  • Experience presenting medical data and concepts to a variety of audiences (medical, scientific, vendors) in a clear, credible and engaging manner
  • Entrepreneurial, ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced early phase company
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications. Must be able to critically evaluate written and published scientific documents for overall quality and acceptability of scientific interpretations
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%
