As a part of the SPAWAR Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP), the candidate will be responsible for running vulnerability scans with ACAS and Security Center.  The scans are completed to maintain the compliance status of all operational Network Protection Suite (NPS) related hardware and software, including NPS components deployed to Service MTFs, the DHA Intranet, and other DHA data centers supported by Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) Duties may include installing, configuring, performing operations and maintenance tasks, administering, and managing all of the following:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of ACAS and Security Center with the ability to perform scans, create and run reports, and troubleshoot more advanced issues on assets in the DHA Enclaves
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux systems to be able manage both Nessus and Security Center applications
  • Tenable training to include any of the following: Security and Compliance Monitoring with Security Center, Nessus Vulnerability & Compliance Auditing, Passive Vulnerability & Compliance Monitoring
  • Manage assets in the Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS), to include publishing reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and ability to maintain existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and draft new SOPs as required.
  • Disseminating, interpreting, and tracking compliance with IAVM associated messages including Alerts (IAVA) and Bulletins (IAVB)  and provide status reports weekly on IAVM compliance along with analyzing scan results to include non-IAVM vulnerabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Basic Knowledge and Requirements:

  • Requires an active Secret clearance at a minimum but may require Top Secret/SCI in the future 
  • Basic network troubleshooting to be able to test Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS)
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) and provide status updates as requested
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to be proactive and work autonomously but also be able to function as a team player
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio)

 DoD 8570 Compliance Requirement:

  • CND Auditor certification (GSNA, CISA, or CEH)
  • Appropriate O/S Certification
  • IAT Level II Certification (GSEC, SSCP or Security Plus)
