3D PIPELINE ENGINEER?(Local candidate based in NJ OR will be able to commute to NJ 2x a week, and work remote 3x a week.)


 Role Summary

  • Apex Systems is looking to hire an experienced graphics pipeline and tools developer to join our Graphics Pipeline Team. This developer will be responsible for implementing tools and components that allow for processing and delivery of immersive AR and VR experiences from a Cloud platform to a multitude of devices.
  • This is a contract-to-hire position available within a top AR / VR group.



  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree of Science is preferred.


* Develop 3d content ingest and processing scripts in a variety of languages.
* Create tools to optimize workflow and automate processes.
* Develop and optimize materials, physics assets, player controllers, animation controllers,
and any functionality required to deliver streaming cloud-based games.
* Profile and optimize assets inside of prefabricated scenes improving performance by
reducing draw calls, optimizing lighting, texture maps, etc.
* Maintain a sustainable workflow of producing and conforming assets to be brought into 
our custom application platform.
* Identify asset errors and create tasks to fix them.
* Work directly with members of the engine and content teams to fill in where needed
* Create, manage, and estimate tasks that will be broken down from high level requirements.



Job Requirements

* Minimum 2 years professional experience with production software.

• Experience working in a team environment.

• Familiar with source / version control.

• Able to create and manage tasks.

• Experience with delivering products.

• 3d content creation / programming experience.

• Knowledge of game optimization for mobile and or virtual reality platforms.

* Familiarity with REST services.

• Comfortable learning / using multiple programming languages.

• Comfortable navigating / creating / debugging common game elements such as particle
systems, materials, lighting, physics assets, models, animated characters.

* Strong grasp of C++/OpenGL development.
