Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing past due accounts on Durable Medical Equipment. This candidate will be responsible for conducting patient and payer follow-up as needed, and will oversee the resolution of outstanding invoiced through cash collections or adjustments. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a customer service oriented role, and will require the ability to ability to learn and understand billing protocol and reimbursement issues, and to maintain accurate and detailed charts/notes in the company system.

Additional duties include:

- Taking incoming calls from patients

- Taking payments over the phone

- Researching patient questions and accounts


Position requires a minimum of 1 year working in a Customer Service environment. Accounts Receivable experience desired. Telephone customer service and/or collections experience in a healthcare environment preferred.


Must be able to meet specified departmental production and quality standards as defined by supervisor, manager and/or organization. Able to work in a fast paced environment and communicate effectively. Basic Typing skills. Must have strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to quickly learn complex computer applications. Ability to maintain good customer service in challenging situations and manage escalated calls. Fluent in Spanish preferred but not required. Ability to flex schedule to work evening and weekend shifts as needed. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must also have excellent research, analytical and problem resolution skills. Strong mathematical aptitude and proficient computer skills required to include experience with Windows based applications (Excel & Word). Health insurance background and knowledge of pharmacy terminology desired.


* Minimum 1 year experience performing healthcare reimbursement, medical insurance/billing or related work.

* Minimum 1 year experience working with healthcare reimbursement systems.

* Ability to prioritize daily tasks.

* Working knowledge of medical terminology.

* Customer service skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

* Experience in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
