Position: Active Directory Engineer/ 857413

Duration: 1+ Year Extendable Contract

Location: Raritan, NJ



Required Experience:

  • 4+ years of Enterprise Windows and Active Directory implementation Projects in complex global enterprises
  • 4+ years of Active Directory Support and Windows Operations experience
  • 3+ years working in an ITIL environment of formal Change Control and documentation processes
  • 2+ years’ strong experience coordinating/progressing activities of IT infrastructure projects in global teams
  • Experience working and troubleshooting AD in Enterprise environments of both Windows and Non-Windows AD clients
  • Wide IT infrastructure background: Name Services, Networks, Firewalls, Servers, Email, Monitoring, Patching
  • Experience with Active Directory Backup and Recovery tools and processes
  • Technically hands-on but with an ability to organize and coordinate activities of other individuals and teams
  • Well organized, determined and tenacious; work-quality, task and time-line focused
  • Communicates with and influences others effectively, navigates obstacles, timely escalates issues
  • Builds mutual trust with colleagues and partners and effectively manages partner and customer expectations
  • Has some flexibility with working hours to accommodate global working across multiple time-zones 



  • To support Development and Planning of AD Functional Level Upgrade
  • Working with Architect, planning and implementing AD Domain/Functional Level Upgrades
  • To support preparation and participate in implementation of DFS-R and other AD changes ahead of AD Upgrade
  • Working with Architect, planning and implementing FRS to DFS-R migration
  • Following up on partner work and other dependencies to ensure the implementation stays on track
  • To support Architect in the development and planning of AD upgrade
  • Communicating with Application Owners advance information about the AD Upgrade and its impact
  • Testing and documenting implementation and upgrade process in Lab and Staging environment
  • Testing automation/scripting used to streamline the build/deployment process
  • Acquiring data from production AD for capacity, connectivity and firewall change planning
  • Evaluating test protocols that will be used to verify production implementations
  • Liaising with the Project Management team to maintain a tight integration of the various workflows
  • Transitioning the Rollout Plan to AD Operations and themselves with it when Prepare phase is complete
  • To take a coordinating role in AD Ops Team for the eventual implementation of the AD upgrade
  • Liaising with and building trust of AD Operations Team, sharing with advance and detailed knowledge
  • Training AD Operations personnel on AD deployment methods
  • Preparing communication templates to inform End User IT and Application owners of project activities
  • Negotiating with End User IT/Site personnel to create, and keep on track, site implementation schedules
