Application Support Engineer Overview

Location: Atlanta, GA

Contract Length: 90 day contract-to-hire

Shift: Monday – Friday; 8 AM – 5 PM

Pay: $30-34

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for applications developed on Visual Studio 2010 .Net or above and Visual Basic platforms.
  • Application server administration (Weblogic, Apache, IIS), SW package installation, patching, upgrading, application troubleshooting and testing
  • Server administration in a heterogeneous environment (windows, Linux)
  • Provide support for escalated issues and provides synopsis/root causes
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of server upgrades and new configurations
  • Configure and maintain development, test and production servers
  • Support development, test and production servers
  • Script and develop Automation for repeatable installation and configuration including manual processes using VBScript, Powershell, SQL, etc
  • Track application activity, identify potential issues and act proactively to prevent anticipated problems
  • Maintain access privileges and account groups
  • Implement change control procedures
  • Work closely with the various testing, development and DBA teams to review and coordinate new changes including version upgrades
  • Provide complete documentation of process and procedures
  • Conduct performance tuning/troubleshooting

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in - Red Hat Linux Admin, IIS Admin
  • Proficient with: Linux and Windows Server Administration, IIS 7.0-10, Apache \ Tomcat Server, Active Directory Tools
  • Familiar with: VMWare, /LB & F5, PowerShell, Splunk, WordPress, MS office products, Visual Studio, Service Ticketing system, PowerShell/VBscript/Batch scripting.
