Position: Associate Manager/Supervisor 

Location: Melville, NY 

Rate: 110,000/YR 

Duration: Perm 

 

Description: 

  • Coordinate all Operations Center staff for system monitoring and level 1 triage of incidents/problems which includes escalation to subject matter experts and Incident Management
  • Manage Staff to ensure that they have an understanding of their roles and responsibilities, provide training as needed
  • Lead overall work efforts performed by the NOC team during their assigned shifts
  • Provide System & Network operational support for mission critical systems 24X7
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and internal escalation point for team members
  • Supports a culture of quality by ensuring the team follows documented procedures and performance goals
  • Effectively escalate issues and coordinate support with next level subject matter specialists, engage vendors to resolve incidents when necessary
  • Works well under pressure to achieve goals for timeliness and productivity
  • Ensure all incident tickets, change tickets and e-mail requests are attended to in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of all products, services and procedures
  • Write and maintain clear and concise documentation for incidents, notifications and procedures
  • Conduct performance evaluations for all direct reports
  • Participate and lead meetings and/or conference calls concerning incident / problem resolution
  • Initiate and coordinate special projects with direct reports
  • Identify incident/problem trends and ensure troubleshooting efforts are completed for all issues
  • Manage multiple high priority initiatives in a fast paced highly technical environment
  • Maintain and develop procedures and methodologies for monitoring and maintaining enterprise servers and network topologies. Periodically validate effectiveness of monitoring systems and processes.
  • Assist with the development of metric reporting
  • Drive process improvements and procedures that will improve overall service delivery to the customer
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years industry experience preferred
  • Up to 2 years experience in information technology management preferred
  • 5 + years of supervisory experience working in a Network Operation Center environment
  • 3-5 years operations experience working in a technical environment (e.g. Technical Operations, Server Technologies, Network Operations, etc)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and networking
  • Experience working with the various network tools such as (Spectrum, EHealth, Gigastor, Wireshark and CiscoWorks for network troubleshooting a plus.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Must be a self starter and demonstrate the initiative to learn new systems quickly
  • Posses strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrates the ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressured environment
  • Ability to manage multiple goals and deadlines, to effectively delegate work tasks and provide status
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers

 

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  •  BA or BS Degree and/or relevant business experience.
