Position Title:Assistant Sanitation Manager

Summary:The Assistant Sanitation Manager plans, directs, and coordinates sanitation programs throughout manufacturing facility. Ensures compliance with company’s food safety required standards, including but not limited to BRC, AIB, HACCP, GMP’s, OSHA and analyzes work environment to accurately implement sanitation programs and procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

I.Work Schedule:

Attend regular on time work schedule as directed by the Department Manager. Including weekends and holidays as needed.
II.Physical, Mental and Visual Requirements:

1.Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to handle and move equipment and materials.

2.Mental and visual ability to identify products. Performs routine and non-routine tasks following complex instructions. Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

3.Capable of moving up and down building stairways and equipment ladders in plant to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required in the production process. Tasks require standing, walking, pushing, grasping, lifting, twisting, pulling, climbing, feeling and bending.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


•Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, personal safety, good manufacturing processes, appropriate state and/or federal regulations and appropriate industry defined standards

•Follows HACCP plans as well as policies and procedures to meet BRC compliance

•Supervise daily work of the sanitation team

•Oversee the company initiatives related to food safety and hygiene.

•Assist in Developing and/or maintaining current hygiene programs and procedures.

•Produce daily schedules for personnel based on daily needs and the weekly master sanitation schedule

•Monitor daily production in order to execute the cleaning plan with maximum efficiency

•Assist in Creating sanitation staff goals and objectives, to ensure high quality cleaning is achieved efficiently.

•Assist in Creating and/ or updating SSOP’s when necessary, monitor The Master Sanitation Schedule and related SSOP’s.

•Verify all documentation is being kept per requirements.

•Ensure established equipment and areas are cleaned according to cleaning procedures.

•Ensure the proper use of sanitation chemicals in various applications.

•Help Develop and conduct training for all active and new hires on SSOP’s and chemical procedures.

•Keep inventory of sanitation supplies and order supplies as necessary.

•Coordinate training of sanitation staff on required company policies, food safety, and sanitation procedures.

•Develop and provide all training to facility to ensure compliance with Sanitation programs.

•Enforce work rules in compliance with our employee handbook, personnel policies, and our collective bargaining agreement

•Demonstrate positive leadership qualities that are aligned with company values and philosophy

•Document disciplinary corrective action when needed

•Assist evaluation of probationary employees and reevaluate full time employees per review schedule

•Ensure compliance with GMP, Allergen Control Programs, Safety Programs (EI: PPE, Safety Glasses, LOTO) and all GFSI prerequisite programs

•Investigates any accidents or near misses and implement an appropriate corrective action for future prevention

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Experience/familiarity with The British Retail Consortium (BRC), American Institute of Baking (AIB) International consolidated standards of inspection, GMP’s, HACCAP Programs.

•Must be organized, accurate, and demonstrate ability to meet objectives with great follow-through.

•Must be able to accurately maintain all documentation, analyze information and create reports.

•Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels

•Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

•Leadership background

•Advanced to intermediate computer skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
