Apex Systems is looking for the next AWS architect to evolve into a dev lead for a company who is the top places to work in IT. This company is located in the DC metro area.

ROLE: AWS Development Lead/Architect

LOCATION: Washington D.C. Metro area

OVERVIEW: This person will be joining a team of 12 made up of developers, QA, analysts, and product managers. You will help keep the infrastructure up to date while managing processes on the ETL back end to help this particular team with their reports and summaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Leverage industry Java best practices to design, test, implement and support a multi-tier origination Java solution
• Eventually mold into a team lead to work closely with others on the team to support their projects, timelines
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 10+ years of software development experience; experience should include some exposure to commercial software development environments- Need to be able to speak to everything written in resume – no more than 4 accurate pages
• Solid technically and a willing communicator- good communication is a must
• Complete transparency with team members about projects
• 100% sold on SCRUM
• Knows GIT with a Java mindset
• AWS environment
• Enthusiastic about working in a technology environment (not just there to work and go home but actually loving your job!)
• Demonstrable Java development experience should include…
  • Java
  • Spark, Python, SQL
  • Agile (should be able to show experience during discussion)
  • Web Services

• Knowledgeable in AWS modules such as:
  • EC2
  • S3
  • ECS

DESIRED:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science
