JOB ROLE: Backend Engineer 
LOCATION: RIchardson, TX

Join the CX (Customer Experience) organization and work with a team of dedicated professionals as we build a cutting-edge, massively scalable, edge device diagnostics and analytics platform. 

In this key role, you’ll be collaborating with the broader team to guide the overall architecture of the platform while exhibiting thought leadership in your specific functional area. You’ll get to work on some of the latest technologies in the market and push your skills to the limit. Our team works fast and you’ll have to be able to pivot with shifting business needs on a daily basis. 

The skills you must have 

• Extensive experience in the Python programming language 

• Deep knowledge of the Django web framework and its internals 

• Experience with relational database systems (Postgres preferred) and data modeling 

• Deep knowledge of NoSQL database systems (Elasticsearch preferred) 

• Knowledge of distributed task queues (Celery preferred) 

• Hands on experience defining and building APIs using REST best practices 

• Experience with Linux servers, especially in the cloud (Cisco, AWS or Google) 

• Understanding of test frameworks and writing unit test cases (PyTest preferred) 

• A passion for maintainable systems and software 

• An ability to innovate 'simply' in the face of overwhelming complexity 

• A willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies 

It would be useful if you had 

• Experience developing web applications for optimal performance 

• Working knowledge of infrastructure orchestration systems such as Kubernetes 

• Experience in scaling data and designing distributed systems 

• Understanding of analytics systems 

• Understanding of system and software security
