Apex Systems is seeking a Principal Consultant to join our client’s Financial Management service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for day to day management of projects.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and effectively communicate using the English language in oral and written communications.
  • The ability to work independently; work well with others in a team environment; and function effectively in difficult, emotionally charged situations.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide guidance and direction for specific tasks and subtasks of projects under this task order.
  • Possess proven ability to manage multitask projects of high complexity.
  • Shoulder responsibility for formulating design, implementation and management of assigned projects.
  • Possess specific, recent, and relevant financial management experience in DoD.
  • Provide quality control of projects and interface with client on project specific issues.
  • Insure projects are completed within the estimated timeframes and budget constraints
  • Deliver presentations and leads client meetings.
  • Understanding of DLA systems and processes in order to provide credible assessment of Information Technology (IT) impacts.
  • Working knowledge of QLIK Sense and SAS Studio.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff throughout the engagement lifecycle and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.
  • Assist partners and senior management on proposals and business development calls.
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements.
  • Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.
  • Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.



Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment”
  • Shall possess a degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in a field applicable to this position, i.e., logistics, engineering, business, operations research, mathematics or other related discipline
  • Must have 10+ years’ experience in consulting, logistics or accounting/auditing in the public and/or private sector
  • Must possess 3+ years’ experience supporting DLA.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
  • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
