ROLE: Business Systems Analyst

LOCATION: Frederick, MD

OVERVIEW: Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Business Systems Analyst to support multiple small to medium sized business and technology driven initiatives. The position is on a contract to hire basis with annual conversion ranging from $95,000 to $105,000. The successful candidate must have experience working in an agile environment, and be able to communicate to both business and technical users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of the most complex, strategic, corporate-wide business problems to be solved with automated systems. 
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. 
  • Apply knowledge of industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position the end client for the future.
  • Work with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. 
  • Participate in transforming strategic enterprise architecture and design principles into specific system requirements and specifications.
  • Recommend and initiates systems testing. 
  • Act as the highest-level internal consultant within technology and business groups by re-engineering technical processes for greater efficiencies with significant impact to the business.
  • Enhance existing and create new documentation to define existing and changes to business and technology processes and systems.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years as a Business Systems Analyst
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Strong analysis skills are needed to understand and define business problems and work with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries
  • Must be competent with MS Visio and/or other documentation tools
