The Treasury & Payment Solutions Consultant is accountable for providing solution consulting, product and technology demonstrations and training for both government and corporate customers and prospects of Treasury and Payment Solutions. This role plays a vital part in supporting the growth of the business by assessing client needs and determining the appropriate product solution in partnership with product management partners. 


The Treasury & Payment Solutions Consultant is also accountable for the delivery of demonstrations of the Bank’s technologies, products and services for clients and prospects


In addition, this role will develop key client specific training programs and documentation to support clients and prospects in their understanding and usage of the bank’s Treasury and Payment solutions. In addition to providing input/feedback for standardized training curriculums. A by-product of these programs is the enhancement of product and technical knowledge among the Product, Sales and Service teams.


The Treasury & Payment Solutions Consultant is the technical subject matter expert for the full suite of solutions/products sold by the line of business.

  1. Knowledge/Experience:


  • University degree or relevant business experience
  • 3-5  years Commercial Card Industry experience
  • 3-5 years professional IT sales support/consulting experience
  • 3-5 years of Adult Education Experience (i.e. Curriculum Management, Class Room/Seminar Training, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of products and technology for Treasury & Payment Solutions, including how these services integrate with other partner products as well as in multi-vendor environments.
  • Some Travel Industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of ecommerce, spend management and financial systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.)
  • Knowledge of networking, file systems, registry settings, scripting and network configurations; i.e., web servers and firewalls.
  • Successful project management experience
  • In-depth understanding of different client needs and how product features fit needs

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expert presentation skills in addressing both small and large audiences (200+)
  • Strong analytical skills in assessing  client needs and determining the appropriate product fit and/or recommending solutions to meet the client’s needs
  • Expert problem solving skills in order to identify client needs and develop appropriate technical solutions
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Preference given to those fluent with more than one language (e.g. Canadian French, Spanish, etc.)

45%:  Consulting and Demonstration Services to Corporate Customers and Prospects

  • Deliver product demonstrations services via web-conferencing and onsite presentations to government and corporate clients and prospects in order to increase revenue and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Provide professional consulting services to senior management from top tier clients and prospects (Fortune 1000, Middle Market and large government agencies)
  • Develop business and technology solutions in conjunction with clients to meet their needs through consultative sales, demonstrations and training presentations.  Partner with the sales managers to ensure that developed solutions continue to meet the needs of the client over time (as required).
  • Troubleshoot complex business problems referred by Sales Managers.
  • Conduct policy & procedure reviews to identify client opportunities for improved control and efficiencies based on industry and best practices.
  • Participate in the selling of Treasury and payment products and services utilizing professional consultative approach.  
  • Complete and hand off consulting engagement documentation to internal delivery teams and customers.
  • Provide client level feedback and concerns to the applicable product management team based on client interactions and client needs.
  • Provide input to product development initiatives, as required, to provide advice and feedback on new product development initiatives.

•Stay abreast of changes in the commercial card, electronic payments, and electronic procurement industry to effectively respond to client questions and needs, differentiating the client from its competition.

  • Maintain expert knowledge of Bank’s Treasury and Payment Solution Spend Dynamics to ensure effective delivery of complex solutions that satisfy clients’ needs.


  • Deliver the training via the appropriate medium (i.e. self-run, webcast, conference, classroom, etc) and ensure that the customer needs are met.
  • Design, create and maintain custom client user documentation and training curriculum for LOB products and solutions, along with lesson plans, materials and processes.
  • Provide input into project/standard user documentation and training curriculum design and creation of LOB products and solutions, along with lesson plans, materials and processes.
  • Facilitate standard and custom technological training sessions for both customers and employees based on business requirements.
  • Improve training processes on products to ensure cost-effective and resource containment in partnership with product management team.


10%:  Risk Management & Logistics

  • Timely recording and track of activity in customer relationship management solution. 
  • Follow all audit, control and compliance requirements as required to fulfill duties.
  • Work within pricing, product and contract parameters when providing communication support on business deals.
