Summary: The primary responsibility of the Command Center Engineer is to be the eyes on glass for all monitoring aspects of Equifax and follow documented SOPs to remediate problems as they occur. This position requires a partnership with business sponsors, project managers, application support, networking, and system administrators as well as the business owners. The Command Center Engineer is expected to respond to all critical alerts and remediate them as quickly as possible and if unable to escalate to the appropriate 3rd level team with all documentation and steps already taken so the Engineer has a clear understanding of where they left off. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Work with a variety of IT and business groups to analyze, trouble shoot, and develop technical requirements while maintaining excellent business relationships * Monitor and provide technical support for a variety of server platforms including file servers, FTP servers, web servers, application server, and infrastructure support environments such as networking equipment and storage equipment * Be the liaison between all technical departments making sure all trouble shooting, documentation, and procedures are being followed according to SOP * Oversee daily system monitoring. This includes verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, and services, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups * Configuring VPN tunnels that terminate on a Palo Alto 5500 firewall for over 400 customers Minimum Education and/or Experience: * Associate Degree, vocational training, apprenticeship or relevant work experience Required Competencies: * In-depth working knowledge of server, network, and storage technologies * Proficient and recent hands-on experience in Systems Administration * Supporting Windows\Linux\Unix environments * Previous experience working in an monitoring environment * Proficient with Hyper-V, Virtualization Technologies, and Enterprise Storage Systems * Experience with supporting switches and routers * Cisco, Juniper and Arista * In-depth experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Nimsoft, Data Dog, Orion or other monitoring technologies * Ability to understand new technologies quickly * Ability to work flexible hours as required * Ability to work independently as well as be a great team player * Ability to interface with IS teammates and strong interpersonal skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Excellent customer service skills * Must maintain the highest level of integrity, courtesy, and respect while interacting with internal customers, Equifax employees, and business contacts * Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and function in a fast-paced, demanding, high growth environment, and be customer-service oriented Preferred Qualifications: * Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration (BA\BS), or 2-4 years relevant work experience
