JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Workplace Technologies Communication and Planning Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of communication and project plans. This role will work closely with the entire Workplace Solutions team to develop technical documentation and communication for Workplace Solutions services and drive user engagement.  Major activities will include coordination of the communication needs for Workplace Solutions, project planning activities, requirements gathering and creating/executing implementation plans.  The position ensures projects/systems are designed, developed, maintained, communicated and operated to attain high availability and business effectiveness. This position will work closely with the managers and staff in Workplace Solutions team to ensure work is appropriately scheduled and progressing. This position may also interface with program and project managers outside of Workplace Solutions to assist with project plan creation for Workplace Solutions projects. 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•  Bachelor’s degree in related field highly desirable
•  At least 5 years of experience with hands-on end user support and/or planning/coordinating efforts across multiple teams
•  1-2 years’ experience in metric development with demonstrated proficiency
•  Self-motivated, takes initiative and habitually removes obstacles for success
•  Ability to simplify complex technical subjects in a way that can be easily understood by non-technical audiences
•  Ability to assess the impact of end-user technology changes and quantify the risk to ensure the appropriate communication is delivered
•  Solid written and verbal communications skills including public speaking ability and ability to construct clear PowerPoint presentations
•  Ability to learn and apply modern technologies, skills and concepts
•  Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities under tight deadlines
•  High-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
•  Ability to maintain and create TeamSite content
•  Experience with SharePoint site administration and site creation/design
•  Ability to build and maintain online content providing fresh and relevant information to end users and support personnel
•  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for self and others
•  Effective interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain relationships
•  Works well on a team that may be geographically dispersed
•  Travel as needed – 5-10%
 
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
•  Organize and plan tasks required for efforts/project implementation to be successful including management of change control, status reporting, budget estimating, and incident analysis
•  Build and maintain Workplace Solutions end user and technology sites
•  Serve as communication lead for all formal program status reporting
•  Creation of communication plans for Workplace Solutions efforts
•  Creation of custom communication distribution lists utilizing SecurityWebware
•  Collect, analyze and coordinate effort/project information to determine status and communicate issues to owning manager
•  Analyze and build reports to track deployment success, issues and health of the compute environment
•  Create and edit video content utilizing Camtasia or other video editing software solutions
•  Interface with Project Managers to report status on projects
•  Respond to risks throughout the effort/project by communicating with team members to ensure risk items are addressed and plans are updated
•  Benchmarking and Analysis of existing processes for improvement
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
•  4-year degree in a computing or engineering field is strongly desired
•  Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT related field
•  1-2 years' experience building reports with Power BI
