Apex Systems Inc. is currently seeking 5 IT Construction Project Managers for a long term (1+ years) contract position located in Philadelphia, PA. Our client, a leading provider for Healthcare and Hospital services, is in the process of designing and standing up a new hospital that will house cutting-edge hardware, telephony and video conferencing technology.

Position Overview:

  • As part of our health systems customer’s project management office, the IT Construction Project Manager will oversee multiple projects and programs coordinating Applications teams, outsourced IT functions, external consultants, vendors, and client departments and divisions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to:  Plan, Execute (flawlessly) and Deliver (on time) and have a backup plan, in case the original plan fails.

 

Responsibilities of IT Construction Manager:

  • Managing the overall project and program lifecycle from system selection, project justification (ROI)
  • Estimating and budgeting process, staffing, delivery, closure, and transition to operations. 
  • Managing the program/project budget, development and management to the plan, coordination with hospital department and staff, risk assessment and mitigation, and problem resolution. 
  • Ensure the completion of programs/projects within budgets and project plans and the integration of these new systems with existing clinical, administrative and financial systems. 
  • Coordinate with IS and departmental management in the annual planning and budgeting process. 
  • Participate in the management of the day-to-day delivery of IS services through appropriate personnel.

 

Experience Required for Infrastructure Project Manager:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience with demonstrated increase in responsibility and project complexity
  • 5-10 years of IT Infra experience

Skill Requirements for Infrastructure Project Manager:

  • Able to make decisions and think independently
  • Proven soft skills (dealing with resources, vendors, customers, etc.)
  • Budget discipline
  • Current/up-to-date  knowledge of technology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations and systems desired
  • Knowledge of facility/building construction
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs consisting of multiple projects and project teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with business and clinical management at the highest levels of an organization
  • Working knowledge of network topology, network infrastructure, telephony infrastructure and construction/design is desirable
  • Ability to supervise and direct IT personnel
  • Ability and experience coordinating the activities and deliverables of two to ten staff on a project team from various areas of an organization
  • Able to deliver clear and concise product presentations and to write clearly and effectively
  • Strong business analyst skills, specifically with business and functional requirements development
