Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Performs engineering design evaluations.
  • May develop a range of products.
  • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 
  • May require a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.


Job Descriptions :

  • Collaborate with industrial designers and electrical engineers to balance product form, size, colors, features, performance, and usability against product requirements. 
  • Mechanical planning, concept, design, modeling, analysis/simulation.
  • Prototype to prove fit, form & function.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for both rapid and mass production.
  • Improve product design fit, form & function to accelerate release to market.
  • Create detailed GD&T/ASME production drawings of thin wall plastic, metal, rubber parts and assemblies.
  • Model electronic enclosure containing PCB, board-level shields, and other assemblies mounted to hardware chassis.
  • Simulate/analyze load limits (stress/displacement) of critical assembly features.
  • Simulate/analyze thermal performance of electrical devices.
  • Review specifications, test plans, procedures to support evaluation development, test, and qualification.
  • Communicate progress, threats/risks, solutions/mitigation, and produce a plan of action for design challenges.
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical CAD Experience (SolidWorks preferred) .
  • Thermal modeling for electronics (6SigmaET preferred).
