Digital Product Owner

The Digital Experience Activation team at is looking for a digital product owner to lead a project to make a number of our websites more accessible. In this role you will be responsible for the migration of multiple public websites to be 100% AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliant.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the roadmap for the migration of multiple websites across Canadian Division
  • Manage day-to-day activities to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met
  • Engage day-to-day with the scrum teams writing and clarifying user stories, participating in sprint planning and reviews, backlog, and prioritization
  • Work with a team of content publisher, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designers
  • Manage, create/maintain a detailed prioritized product backlog, using agile methodology
  • Work with engineering and design teams to determine feasible technical solutions and reasonable implementation timelines
  • Engage with analytics teams to ensure websites are properly tagged
  • Manage engagement with stakeholders and effectively communicate project updates and releases

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital technology and/or web experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of  the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and guidelines on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organization and project management skills
  • Strong relationship development and management skills
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or enterprise content management systems
  • Experience working with a component-based WCMS framework
  • An understanding of the discipline of user experience design (UxD) and its fundamental principles
  • Experience working with a pattern library or other UX design framework in conjunction with the UX team
  • Ability to perform well under tight deadlines
  • Outside-the-box problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels in the organizations
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in French and English
