Description
The Digital Engineering Director is responsible for designing and improving manufacturing and distribution equipment/systems at the mechanical, electrical, and software levels leveraging the latest in digital technologies and connectivity across the manufacturing and distribution value chain. Focus on the enablement of data sensing, acquisition, and analytics across the manufacturing and distribution network to drive increases in productivity, product and process quality, predictive systems/business intelligence, and machine learning. Plan, direct, coordinate and optimize digital capabilities for all in-flight and future state CAPEX investments. Work with cross functional teams throughout the organization to refine design, plan and develop digital technologies and capabilities in pursuit of value added / actionable data across the manufacturing and distribution environments.
 
  • Design, develop, validate and deploy digital technologies (e.g. IoT, AI/Machine learning, Advanced robotics, AR/VR, 3DP) Identify, develop, and deploy tools such as Digital Work Instructions, Computer Aided Process Planning, Operator Displays, performance / Status Dashboards, and other connected worker support tools maximizing speed to benefit realization, enabling step change improvement in quality, productivity, and continuous improvement
  • Lead / support development and deployment of future state digitally enabling instrumentation, control, connectivity, and analytic solutions for manufacturing and distribution equipment and operational assets
     
  • Work with stakeholders to develop simulation and modeling tools / capability (digital Twin) to support iterative process design and end to end process optimization
     
  • Enable predictive problem identification through monitoring relevant operations, processes, and systems through connected data sources across the network
     
  • Establish data capture specifications and requirements for all “Smart Factory/DC” systems and equipment to maximize analytics leveraging
     
  • Ensure effective process management via developing and sustaining uniform digital governance across the value chain
     
  • Enable full scale data analytics identifying and deploying solutions which optimize system/process performance which leverage historic and real-time network data
     
  • Ensure impactful data analytics capability by evolving data sources to provide meaningful insights and actionable information
     
  • Develop, integrate, test, and validate network and process-level models and simulations ensuring accurate and impactful predictive analytics
     
  • Enable predictive validation capabilities through development and deployment of digital testing processes and systems (virtual scale-up)
     
  • Identify and deploy digital capabilities which Improve manufacturing productivity, efficiency, and quality (mistake proofing/identification) while driving down maintenance, rework, and inventory costs
  •  Identify digital transformation project specs / performance requirements and supporting project plans ensuring system meets ROI and operational expectations
     
  • Collaborate with other vendors, stakeholders, engineers, managers and Product Management teams to develop innovative digital solutions which meet market/business needs
     
  • Lead / support the evaluation and management of digital enabling software applications and functionality across manufacturing systems
     
  • Project manage the portfolio of engineering enabled digital transformation / enablement projects in support of global objectives
     
  • Tool deployment & training alignment

• Specs & Exp – Hands on experience enabling and driving digital transformation, Success in major technical project management
