SUMMARY

The EDI Support Specialist I works closely with merchants, business analysts, various other departments, customers and vendors in electronic communication of purchase order, advance ship notice, invoice, product activity and other business transaction data for Advance Auto Parts. This position will have overall responsibility for evaluating all current vendor and customer EDI profile data to ensure that it is complete, accurate and updated on a timely basis. This position will have responsibility to ensure all intended outbound and expected inbound EDI data is transmitted successfully both internally and externally.

This position will ensure current EDI trade partner (customer and vendor) data is complete and up-to-date. This position is responsible for managing the associated risks involved with missing or inaccurate EDI data. 

This position builds strong cross-functional and collaborative relationships with business customers, vendors and internal partners to fully understand their strategies and needs. This position is exposed to and must understand the processes used by multiple teams within Advance Auto Parts for successful EDI process, product and service delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Ability to cultivate relationships across functions in order to achieve business objectives. 
  • Verbal and written communication with trading partners (customers and vendors)
  • Take ownership and act as subject matter expert for the trading partners and escalate issues as necessary
  • Review and resolve trade partner EDI transaction errors in a timely manner
  • Identify trends in EDI failures and make recommendations to trade partners and teammates on a permanent solution to failures
  • Setup and Test TP Profiles with new EDI trading partners
  • Test EDI communication with new EDI trading partners
  • Involvement in testing new EDI Transaction maps
  • Test and on-board new trade partners to AAP EDI program
  • Daily EDI production support and troubleshooting
  • Reconciliation of EDI business documents using Microsoft Access and Excel and Oracle APEX database tools
  • Data entry, export, reporting and analysis across multiple systems
  • Recommend enhancements to expand on process efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials
  • Prepare and submit weekly status and KPI reports
  • Must demonstrate good organizational and follow-up skills and work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure; calculate gross margin and markup; and, compute ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graph

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required, as is the ability to quickly learn and use job specific computer applications including EDI specifications

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree; and 1+ years EDI work experience, including minimum 1 years automotive parts or retail experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
