Apex Systems is seeking experienced candidates for an Electrical Panel Assembler role in the Pittsburgh area.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and preferably mechanical production equipment.
Requirements include:
  • Solid background in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical devices, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation equipment, motors and sensors
  • Working use and knowledge of control panel wiring and power cable wiring for motor control center panels
  • Sizing wires/cables & circuit breakers based on predetermined loads
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and analyze machine operations and translate understanding into control system design
  • Flexible work schedule as hours may vary, including overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in team environments 

Preferred characteristics include:
  • A degreed candidate is preferred, but other candidates may be considered depending upon experience, skills and record of accomplishments
  • Working use and knowledge of:
  • NEC and NFPA 79 codes and regulations
  • Electrical panel assembly, PLCs
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI) packages
  • Computers and their operating systems
  • Ability to perform electrical circuit analysis and closed loop design.
  • Experience as an instrumentation field technician doing commissioning and service of electrical, instrumentation, and hydraulics products
