Position Summary - Our client is seeking an experienced email marketing professional who has a strong digital marketing background. The Email Marketing Specialist will create and deploy complex and varied email campaigns with responsibilities including but not limited to design, configuration, testing, deployment and tracking of batch and triggered email programs.

We’re looking for someone who has strong attention to detail, is adept at multi-tasking, and is able to excel in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Additionally, the ideal candidate has working knowledge of email marketing technology and related tools (i.e., HTML, Responsys, Harmony, BlueConic, Monetate, Taxi for Email, etc.) and is proficient with MS Office.

Location: Washington, DC

Rate: $30/hr - $35/hr (Negotiable based off experience)

Length: 6 Month Contract (Likely to extend, potential perm conversion)

Responsibilities include:

  • Set-up, test, deploy, and monitor client's email campaigns (generally managing about 10 campaigns at a time in various stages)
  • Manage workload, assignments, and project communication effectively via online tools (Jira, etc.)
  • Deploy Error-free campaigns; delivery of all planned campaigns on time and to specifications.
  • Refine email campaigns by editing HTML (minor editing, not full email coding)
  • Build banners and email signup forms on the website.
  • Focus on an optimal customer experience by ensuring the emails and banners render properly on all devices, and perform as expected; clicks to website are tracked appropriately, allowing correct attribution to the channels, and improved customer targeting based on website click data.

Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience (Flexible)
  • Ability to multitask, work quickly, self-manage troubleshooting of campaign elements
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Proficient/skilled in the use of digital marketing / email platforms, ideally Responsys, but experience with the following are also a plus: BlueConic, Monetate, Exact Target, Harmony, Marketo, etc.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and website or email content management systems
  • Must be a detail- and process-oriented, efficient, dependable and a collaborative team player
  • Should thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
