Under the direction of the test Manager or project technical lead, support development qualification test by performing moderately difficult duties of assembling, repairing, modifying, and functionally testing AC drive units. Maintain tracking and configuration databases of drives used for qualification and certification testing. Interface at a high level with Product Certification, Development, Qualify, and development Test engineers on configurations used for tests.


Essential Functions:


*Build prototype and Alpha test units to support test and qualification efforts.

*Track and document all drive configurations used in the test process.

*Participate in product change and impact analysis meetings and along with the development test manager help determine the test impact based on the change being implemented.

*Interface with Production, Industrialization, and Production Test in the build and test of development units.

*Insure units are available and operational as the test schedule dictates.

*Maintain and learn new technological skills so that they may be appropriately applied in product test or development processes.

*Perform drive qualification tests as directed by the program test manager.

*Utilize and interpret test and development instrumentation including but not limited to oscilloscopes, DVMs, LCR meters, dynamometers, current probes, differential voltage probes, and Spectrum analyzers

*Understand and practice laboratory procedures for the safe and efficient use of electronic instrumentation, electrical power, rotating machinery, and general lab cleanliness.

*Actively support safety programs and procedures and ensure a safe lab working environment by practicing and participating in Lockout-tag out (LOTO) and all corporate safety initiatives.

*Ability to write test reports, manipulate data, and create configuration documentation utilizing MS Office Tools.

*Ability to use SAP to manage parts, BOMs and drawings needed to support role. Leadership

*Ability to work as a team member for the development test organization within Rockwell Automation

*Requires the ability to lift up to thirty-five pounds

*Must be able to climb ladders and move over, under and around large drives, wires, and motors.

*May travel as required to meet the requirements of assigned projects


Educational Requirements

Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology or related engineering discipline Minimum Qualifications

*Minimum 2 years of product development or testing experience
