Epic Ambulatory Consultant

Our client has contracted with Epic as part of the Refuel project to evaluate the order catalog with a specific focus on lab orders and lab result components that are currently configured. The focus of this resource is to work with the project team to evaluate the impact to quality measure mapping (aka terminology mapping), decision support rules and finally any clinical reports that would be affected. The consulting resource is needed to complete the analysis of existing build for the above-mentioned items against Epic’s model build, work with internal resources on changes, complete the required database changes, attend meetings, produce documentation to aid in ongoing support.

The consultant will work closely with existing resources to understand current configuration and will work with them to analyze the impact to existing quality measures, clinical decision support alerts in place and finally any clinical reports that will be impacted.

Responsibilities of the IT Resources shall include but are not limited to the following:

The resources will work forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, in the South Side region of Pittsburgh. Resources must be available for eighteen (18) months (2880 hours). The targeted start date is April 22, 2019. This position has the potential to be extended upon completion of the original eighteen months.

Required Skillsets and Qualifications of a successful candidate must include:

• Resource that has implemented and as working knowledge of the terminology mapping tools within Epic.

• Resources that has had at least 3-5 years of experience building clinical alerts in the Epic system.

• Certified in Ambulatory – experience working with EpicCare ambulatory eRecord and has a functional understanding on other build facets of the application such as smartsets, flowsheets and patient reported outcomes.

• Resource is familiar with the reporting database, Clarity. The ideal candidate would be familiar using record viewer to troubleshoot the application and potentially test clinical reports.

• Working knowledge of the mapping tools in Epic

• Working knowledge of the clinical decision support tools (best practice advisory, BPA) within Epic
