Finance Project Manager

Location: Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30308

Contract: 6 month contract only

Pay: 65.14/hr

Business Initiative:

The EIS Finance Manager will lead EIS Finance projects and support communications activities. This role will report to the EIS Finance Communications Manager and be an active project manager to facilitate the EIS Finance Transformation and Roadmap execution.

This role will require an enthusiastic leader to manage projects that are part of the larger program “EIS Finance Transformation and Roadmap.” Role will not only assist in creating critical project, program, and portfolio management deliverables (e.g. Project Charter, Project Plans, Critical Issues Log, Analysis, etc.), but will also be expected to support the team in achieving priorities, goals and strategies with key stakeholders. Applies various technical disciplines such as process improvement, data analysis, and facilitation. Provides objective advice, expertise and specialist support skills with the aim of creating value and maximizing growth or improving the business performance of their clients. Responsibilities increase from support functions to responsibility for the performance of the EIS Finance Projects/Program.

Must Haves:

  • 4+ years of project management/leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of complex Programs and Projects.
  • Solid progressive related experience in either a consulting, project management or process improvement related role.
  • Demonstrated superior understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs and policies.
  • Ability to make or recommend complex strategic decisions and prioritize competing initiatives by effectively influencing team members and other stakeholders; and effectively conducts difficult negotiations.
  • Experience with SharePoint content management and publishing
  • Agile and Six Sigma Experience
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to tailor communications to unique situations.
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project)

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience with Financial Services
  • Prior Financial Systems PM experience
  • PMI certification preferred

Prior Experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation, planning, and execution of the EIS Finance Transformation and Roadmap projects.
  • Actively lead the development, planning and implementation of one or multiple projects. Identify and capture synergy opportunities across the enterprise.
  • Analyze variances to the project plan.
  • Ensure the development of, and tracking against, business cases and KPIs.
  • Develop a plan to deliver benefits realization.
  • Exercise logical and timely decision making when issues arise or when competing priorities must be managed.
  • Manage project budget and project resources.
  • Manage projects in accordance with defined SunTrust project governance methodologies in completing project work, resolving issues, and supporting recommendations.
  • Lead or participate in the assessment of potential new opportunities, analyzing opportunity at a high-level and defining approach, create documents and work with Business or Function managers to agree on project scope and approach.
  • Support change to influence the strategic direction of initiatives
  • Responsible for developing solutions to address complex business unit and enterprise-wide business problems that integrate with organizational and technical standards and infrastructure.
