Firmware Test Engineer

Arden Hills, MN

Seeking highly experienced and skilled Firmware Test Engineer to help with laser project.

Prefer an engineer with experience in the following development environments and development tasks.

Development of automated and manual testing for laser system that consists of an user interface running on Linux written in Qt and embedded processor that controls the laser and other subsystems.

Firmware Development Tasks:

  • Read, understand and provide feedback on the testability of requirements.
  • Develop protocols that exercise the software/firmware/system
  • Create test scripts in Python to support the execution of the protocols
  • Peer review other protocols
  • Execute tests and work with in the quality system

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Education and experience/skillset requirements:

  • Engineering degree preferred, with 4 + years’ experience
  • Embedded SW/FW test development
  • Develop test scripts utilizing languages like Python
  • Able to test system with serial communication RS-232/SPI/USB/I2C
  • Able to test systems with electrical output interfaces
