Summary
Assess, inspect and correct system faults in Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M) AN/USQ-172 GCCS-M 4.x), (Radiant Mercury) and other C2I systems/equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Identify and correct anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems.
  • Provide onboard maintenance training to ship’s force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of listed systems
  • Perform functional checks and program review support for C2I systems
  • The ship board investigation phase of a task involves considerable walking, climbing and crawling in and around the equipment/system for several hours at a time on hard steel decks.
  • Work is normally required aboard U.S. naval ships at berths at anchor or at buoys within the harbor.
  • Helicopter, aircraft (COD) flights, high line and small boat transfers from ship to ship may be occasionally required

Minimum Requirements
Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

General Experience:
  • A minimum of eight (8) years full-time hands-on technical experience within last 15 years in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of electrical/electronic systems/equipment incorporated in Combat, ASW, USW, MIW, or C4I systems..

Specialized experience:

  • A minimum of four (4) years’ hands-on experience within last 10 years in the troubleshooting, assessment and repair of the following system: AN/USQ-172 GCCS-M 4.x

  • Position requires the ability to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair industrial facilities.
