Our new, well-funded start-up is seeking a Gnotobiotic Technician to join their team to assist in the building out of their new vivarium. If you have strong experience being an animal technician, understand dosing techniques, oral gavage, basic lab animal maintenance, and have previous Gnotobiotics experience, look no further! 


Reporting to the Gnotobiotic Facility Head, the gnotobiotic technician, is responsible for assisting the gnotobiotic head with all aspects of the vivarium facility.

Key tasks include the following:

  • Assist in maintaining a gnotobiotic mouse facility. Responsibilities include mouse husbandry; breeding; maintaining cages; record keeping; cleaning of equipment and facility; ordering supplies; building, modifying, and sterilizing gnotobiotic isolators and other supplies.
  • Assist scientific team in performing experiments with the gnotobiotic mice. This includes inoculation, sample collection,
  • Maintaining a breach-free gnotobiotic vivarium and a colony to support all experimental needs for the company
  • Communicate clearly, ability to work independently as well as on a team, and able to think critically as well as receptive to take guidance
  • Meticulous attention to details, anticipate potential issues at an early stage before critical problems arise, asses a situation and take the appropriate action with minimal guidance

  • Must have previous experience working in a Gnotobiotic environment
  • Must have previous animal technician experience
  • dosing, oral gavage, tagging
  • know how to maintain a clean environment for the lab animals
