Summary 
 
The Help Desk Clinic Specialist represents IT as the first point of contact for EHR application support for clinical staff. This position will assist staff with documenting approved procedures within the EHR. Also may be require to create and updating existing training documentation as needed.
Essential Functions
 
  1. Represents IT as the first point of contact for EMR application support.
  2. Actively participates in development and continuous improvement of the EMR workflow and user interface, including evaluating and testing EMR enhancements.
  3. Maintains working knowledge and stays current on all reception and clinical Nextgen procedures.
  4. Handles problems directly when within scope of knowledge, experience, and authority.
  5. Tracking support calls through help desk system.
  6. Triages calls / requests, communicating with appropriate IT personnel
  7. Communicates with Help Desk Lead on a regular basis with updates on projects, tasks and help desk activity.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 
Education
 
  1. Certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN is required. Ideallly will keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations.

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  1. 2 years of work experience in dermatology / Mohs surgey or 4 years of related work experience is required.
  2. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills in order to provide a quality training experience.
  3. Ability to train using a variety of systems and methods.  Must be adaptable to a variety of learning styles and capacities, with the ability to demonstrate a consistently calm, positive, and encouraging demeanor. 
  4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team. 
  5. Must display a friendly cheerful, tactful and polite demeanor, and compassionate caring in dealing with others.
  6. Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  7. Must have proficient computer and typing skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  9. Familiarity with NextGen EPM and EMR and/or EMA EMR ideal, but not required.
